On 28 January 2026, the DIGI4ECO project was presented by ICM-CSIC at Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland, as part of the Department of Environmental and Marine Biology’s weekly seminar series. Invited as a guest speaker, Damianos Chatzievangelou showcased DIGI4ECO alongside other cutting-edge marine research initiatives..
The presentation, titled “Intelligent ecological monitoring to serve marine ecosystem management”, highlighted DIGI4ECO as a powerful example of how advanced digital technologies — including AI-driven monitoring and innovative data integration approaches — can support more effective observation, assessment and sustainable management of marine ecosystems. The session sparked insightful discussions on how digital solutions can strengthen marine biodiversity protection and inform future ocean management strategies.
