We are proud to share that Juliana Quevedo Zabala, from our project coordination partner ICM-CSIC, gave a presentation titled “Sleeping Data Awakened: 20+ Years of Socio-Ecological Dynamics in NW Mediterranean Fisheries” at the United Nations One Ocean Science Congress, held in Nice, France, from 4–6 June 2025.

This high-level congress brought together global experts to explore the ocean’s evolving challenges, resilience, and capacity for restoration. Discussions focused on informing policy and management practices at both local and global scales, aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development—with particular emphasis on Sustainable Development Goal 14, which promotes the conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal ecosystems.

Juliana’s presentation contributed valuable long-term insights into Mediterranean fisheries, highlighting the critical role of data in guiding sustainable ocean stewardship.
