DIGI4ECO partners presented their latest research on underwater target tracking using autonomous vehicles at the 2026 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2026), held from 1–5 June 2026 in Vienna, Austria.
The poster, entitled “Scaling Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning for Underwater Acoustic Tracking via Autonomous Vehicles” showcases an innovative approach to improving the tracking of underwater targets through the coordinated operation of autonomous marine vehicles.
Authored by Matteo Gallici (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), Ivan Masmitja (ICM-CSIC), and Mario Martín (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), the research investigates how multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) can enhance underwater acoustic tracking in complex and dynamic marine environments.
This research reflects DIGI4ECO’s commitment to advancing innovative digital technologies that support a better understanding and protection of marine environments through autonomous monitoring systems.
