The DIGI4ECO project was represented at the 30th Workshop on Economic Science with Heterogeneous Interacting Agents (WEHIA), the annual conference of the European Society for Heterogeneous Interacting Agents (ESHIA), dedicated to complexity economics and agent-based modelling.
During the event, Silvia Gallegati and Michele Catalano from UNIVPM presented ongoing research developed within the DIGI4ECO project, focusing on socio-ecological modelling for the Digital Twin Ocean (DTO).
The presentation highlighted innovative approaches to integrating ecological and economic dynamics to support more sustainable marine resource management. In particular, the research explored Fishery Depleted Areas (FDAs) as case studies, demonstrating how socio-ecological models can contribute to ecosystem restoration strategies while promoting the long-term sustainability of fisheries.
The work also contributed to broader discussions on ecological economics and marine restoration, closely aligned with the objectives of the REDRESS project.
