During the DIGI4ECO 24-Month Meeting in Barcelona, the consortium proudly presented the eDNA sampler SF26, an innovative technology developed through the iNEST project D4BLOND.
The system has been designed and built in collaboration with leading research and technology partners, including the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, the University of Bologna, and 3DResearch.
The eDNA sampler represents a cutting-edge solution for monitoring marine biodiversity through environmental DNA (eDNA).
The eDNA sampler SF26 is expected to be deployed soon at the OBSEA cabled observatory, where it will operate in real marine conditions.
This deployment marks an important step towards integrating automated biological monitoring into the DIGI4ECO Digital Twin of the Ocean framework.
The DIGI4ECO consortium looks forward to the upcoming deployment and operational phase of the eDNA sampler and will continue to share updates as the system is tested and validated at sea.
