DIGI4ECO was presented at the EIFAAC International Symposium!

We are pleased to share that our partner, ICM – CSIC, presented DIGI4ECO project at the the EIFAAC (European Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture Advisory Commission) International Symposium.

The Symposium titled “Building a sustainable future for inland fisheries and aquaculture in a time of multiple stressors” took place in Pula, Croatia from 7th to 9th of October, 2024.

Additionally, the symposium covered diverse themes related to inland fisheries and aquaculture, including stock assessment and freshwater fish management, migratory fish conservation, and the use of artificial intelligence in fisheries. It addressed strategies for combating freshwater invasive species (FINS III), examined the impacts of climate change on inland waters, and discussed developments and challenges in freshwater aquaculture.

Furthermore, the symposium highlighted advancements in recreational fisheries research and management, innovative approaches to conservation of freshwater ecosystems, and the importance of citizen science and socio-economic factors in sustainable fisheries and aquaculture practices.

The recent event attracted more than 130 participants from the wider fishery and aquaculture sector, including researchers and academics.
